Goals:
to teach youth people to know and to apply their rights and responsibilities;to empower a generation of socially aware citizens, prepared to take active part in a democratic society's life.
Activities:
conducting educational seminars, tournaments and round-tables;establishing and support of pilot organizations for program operation;publishing methodic and hand-out materials.
History
The IMDC was founded in Kyiv in 1995, and was registered as NGO in 1996. With time the IMDC established 7 regional debate centers. All staff members of the centers have attended trainings on management, fundraising, leadership, human rights, gender sensitivity, interactive methodology, and debate practices. Each center has established contacts within its community, including schools, universities and government institutions.
Besides the IMDC develops various civil education activities in Ukraine - the Debate, the Legal Clinics, and the Street Law (Practical Law) Programs, prepares TV program "TV Debates".
